Nicole Osterholm, Principal
Ms. Nicole Osterholm joined Cape Elementary as the principal in December, 2012. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. Ms. Osterholm began her teaching career in Lee County Schools at Caloosa Elementary and continued her career at Edgewood Elementary and Allen Park Elementary for a total of eleven years. In 2002, she received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University. Ms. Osterholm was an assistant principal at Allen Park Elementary for eight years. Her dedication and passion for teaching and learning is evident in her passion as a leader! Her goal is to learn all 745 students’ names at Cape! Ms. Osterholm lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the first eighteen years of her life. Her family vacationed in Fort Myers for many years. She has called Fort Myers her home for over 28 years. In her free time, she enjoys reading, going to the beach and attending sporting events.
Assistant Principal, Kristi Sund
Kristine (Kristi) Sund joined Cape Elementary as the assistant principal in June, 2014. She was born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida where she attended K-12 in the Lee County School System. After receiving her bachelor’s degree at the University of Central Florida, she moved home and began her teaching career as a kindergarten and 2nd grade teacher at Tanglewood Elementary. After 6 years of teaching, she decided to pursue a career in administration and earned her Masters of Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. While pursuing her master’s degree, she was hired as a Learning Resource Teacher and Curriculum Specialist at Villas Elementary where she worked for 3 years. Then Mrs. Sund was an assistant principal at North Fort Myers High School for 2 years. She feels honored to be the assistant principal at Cape Elementary and looks forward to another great year. Her goal is to inspire students and staff to achieve more than they can imagine. Outside of her school time, Mrs. Sund is a busy wife and mother of two amazing boys. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, shopping, and swimming.
